It's not often that Paul and I feel the need to take a moral stand on anything. Just never find the need to get too riled up about much. We're pretty much "live and let live" kind of people.
But this is different. We can remember the 1980's and all the hulabaloo surrounding techniques used in tuna fishing. Nets = bad. Save the dolphins! Perhaps we even implored our mothers to buy the tuna with the "dolphin-free" labels. I doubt listened to us much then but it was one small thing we could do. One little stand we could make.
Maybe they do things differently in Jamaica, though. This is from the Sandals Resorts "Know Before You Go" guide discussing local tours & excursions (p. 18 & 19):
Deep Sea Fishing: Enjoy deep-sea fishing for the big ones: Marlin, Tuna, King Fish, Dolphin, and Mahi-Mahi.
Um, yeah. Something is just so wrong about that. Dad, if you're going to take this excursion, just promise me that there will be no dolphins harmed during your trip. Of course, there is a good chance that nothing will be harmed during your fishing trip. (Oh, you know I had to say that. It was just too easy not to.)

OMG!! It doesn't seem possible that dolphins aren't protected...wow.
Surely this is some kind of missprint...Right?
We're really hoping it's an error. It just doesn't seem right. Surely someone would have had this mistake pointed out and corrected it. Maybe it was done a disgruntled employee with a really bad sense of humor. :)
